BECOME AN APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY INTERVIEWER

This is a chance to make a difference by appreciating what our community does!

What is Appreciative Inquiry?
Appreciative Inquiry (AI) looks at what works in a situation, rather than trying to fix what is wrong. It is the opposite of problem solving. Once we know what is working we then work out how we can do more of that, more often. By using AI we get to understand real stories that show success. This allows people to have a say and be part of improving what we do and how we do it. For more information on AI, go to the following link: http://appreciativeinquiry.case.edu/

An Opportunity
We are offering a 2-day course to become an Appreciative Inquiry Interviewer. This training will teach people how to gather stories from Accord staff, families and friends and the people we support. At this training you will learn how to:
• Ask questions in a way that identifies what is working well now
• Ask questions in a way that helps others to tell their own stories
• Be able to identify positive experiences and successes
• Be able to interview people from different backgrounds/experiences
Each person who becomes an AI Interviewer will collect stories from at least 10 people at Accord and take part in an AI Summit to be held later this year. This Summit will become the basis for our new strategic plan.
